Laudato Si’ Action Groups: Celebration and Acceleration Event, June 29, 2021
It’s time for a high-five!
In spite of the pandemic barriers, our Ottawa area multi-parish Laudato si’ Action Groups launched in late January.
We will meet by Zoom at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29 to celebrate what the Groups have achieved so far and accelerate our efforts.
Program: The event will allow all Action Groups participants (and other interested persons) to hear about
the vision, plans and activities of the three active Groups and share ideas and encouragement.
We will also learn about new Laudato si’ developments within and beyond our diocese. For example,
the Diocesan “Care for Creation” office has been asking all Ottawa-Cornwall Archdiocese parishes about their awareness, interest and current activities with respect to Laudato si’ – what has been learned
the 7-year action plan on Laudato si’ for the Association of Catholic Bishops of Ontario by John Dorner in Ottawa and colleagues in the London and Hamilton dioceses
the Laudato si’ Action Platform of the Vatican Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development, announced by Cardinal Turkson on May 25
Holy Redeemer Parish’s Laudato si’ discussions based on the documentary “Laudato si’ +5: See, Judge, Act” (Laudato Si’ +5: See, Judge, Act (KM Productions) | Canadian Religious Conference (crc-canada.org)
Two special guests – GCCM-Canada coordinator Agnes Richard, and Joe Gunn, executive director of Centre Oblat/A Voice For Justice – will add their comments and provide news about other initiatives around the region and country.
Participants: we hope for participation by
all Action Group members
other parishioners plus the pastors from the four parishes currently involved (Holy Canadian Martyrs, Holy Redeemer, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, St. Basil’s)
other parishioners and pastors from throughout the Archdiocese
