Logo Design Competition for St. Basil's Parish Ottawa

Introduction

To mark the upcoming 60th anniversary of St. Basil's Parish, we are holding a logo design competition. We are seeking an original logo for St. Basil's that expresses our Church and our Parish Mission.  There will be prizes (including for honourable mentions for Children and Youth selections) and a Grand Prize for the selected logo that will be used in our print, website and social media communications for years to come!  Deadline is June 14.  The Grand Prize is $500 and recognition of the winning logo on the website.  Please submit your digital entries by e-mail to stbasilscomms@gmail.com or drop off your original work on good quality paper to the Parish Office by the deadline. Before starting please see the logo design competition rules below:

Logo Competition Rules and Details

1. All images and fonts must be your own work or open license. Do not use copyrighted materials.
2. Images can be designed digitally or by hand (e.g. painting, drawing, etc.).
3. Submissions are due to St. Basil’s by June 14^th in order to be considered eligible for prizes. Late submissions will not be accepted. Please send all submissions to St. Basil’s at Stbasilscomms@gmail.com  or drop off at St. Basil’s Church, 940 Rex Ave, Ottawa ON, K2A 2P7
   1. Electronic submissions may be created in any software program, but, for the purposes of adjudication, please include a PDF copy of your submission on a 8 ½ x 11 size sheet.
   2. The minimum resolution of the image in the PDF file should be 300 dpi.
4. St. Basil’s reserves the right to use any of the images submitted in Parish publications including, but not limited to, print, social media, websites and multimedia.
5. Submissions will be reviewed based on the following criteria:
   1. Images of St Basil the Great, or symbols representing St. Basil
   2. Demonstration of Christian spirit and values
   3. The inclusion of “St. Basil’s Parish Ottawa”
   4. Coherent colour scheme
   5. Professional appearance
   6. Creativity
6. A selection committee will be established to review the designs. The top three designs will be voted on by the Parishioners of St. Basil’s. The selection committee reserves the right to make a final decision. 
7. The grand prize of $500 will be awarded to the winning submission, which will also be the new St. Basil’s logo.
