Season of Creation - September 1st

In 2015, Pope Francis announced that the Catholic Church would join other Christians in marking September 1st as the WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR CREATION and the beginning of the SEASON OF CREATION which extends to October 4th, the feast of St. Francis of Asissi, the patron saint of the environment.

Pope Francis has said:

"This is the season for letting our prayer be inspired anew by closeness to nature...to reflect on our lifestyles...for undertaking prophetic actions...directing the planet towards life, not death."
