Rev. Dr. Anthony Bailey is the Senior Minister at Parkdale United Church in Ottawa. Originally from the Barbados, he grew up with his siblings and parents in the Montreal area. He has academic degrees in social work, theology, philosophy of religion and ethics and culture. He has worked in hospital ministry and has taught at McGill University and at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. Rev. Bailey and his wife Wendy and their children came to Parkdale United after ministering in Jamaica. He has also ministered in Kenya, East Africa.
Frequently invited to speak at workshops and lectures in churches, schools and federal government departments, Rev. Bailey is recognized as an expert in intercultural competence, social justice, anti-racism, Black History, and racial justice. Rev. Bailey was awarded the DreamKEEPERS Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Life Achievement Award for racial reconciliation.
